Aluminium is an extremely versatile material that is used extensively in building and construction. Its first appearance was in 1893, in Piccadilly Circus; in fact it is still there to this day – the statue of Eros, God of Love is made from cast aluminium.
Being made of alloys, aluminium is weather-proof, and corrosion resistant, making it very durable. It is strong and so offers excellent security in an office or home. Because aluminium is easy to work with during manufacture it has a large number of design applications; it can be painted in any colour, with any surface finish or even anodised; making it an extremely flexible material to work with. It has a high strength-to-weight ratio, meaning large structures can be built without the aluminium itself contributing excessively to the ‘dead load’ (which would then limit design and technical specifications)
Regent Windows uses Smarts Architectural Aluminium exclusively for all work done in aluminium. Smarts is based in Yatton, North Somerset and has a purpose-built 30,000 square metre facility.
