Sealed Units
All our double-glazed units are made using Planibel A low-E glass (by AGC Glass Europe)
Regent uses Edgetech I.G.’s Super Spacer. This new EPDM foam spacer is a solid, but flexible spacer strip that incorporates high quality desiccant into the structure of the material itself (rather than inside a hollow cavity). The Super Spacer offers the following benefits over standard Aluminium or ‘warm-edge’ engineered plastic/GRP spacers:
65% warmer at the edge of the sealed unit, meaning a higher thermal value overall
2dB reduction in noise levels: Super Spacer does not conduct sound
70% reduction in condensation; less mopping up, fewer germs breeding and better-looking windows
950 times less conductive than aluminium, so spacer no longer acts as a thermal bridge between the glass panes
All our units are ‘B’ rated as standard. We can add Argon gas to make them ‘A’ rated if required.
We can manufacture units from 11mm upwards.
We manufacture and install triple-glazing.
We can offer high security sealed units, using clear laminate glass.

Glass
Glass has been around since 3500 BC. It has now been refined to combine different properties that have numerous applications.
Float glass is what we mean when we discuss ordinary, everyday glass in house windows
Toughened glass has to be used where glass forms part or all of the structure of a door, or is next to a door, or is less than 80 cm from the ground. this is to prevent serious injury should someone trip and fall into the glass. Toughened glass is baked in an oven, having been cut to size (you can't cut glass after it has been toughened).
Laminate glass has a layer between two panes, to hold the shards in place if it breaks. This is typically found in your car windscreen and in skylights. The layer between the panes also has a damping effect on noise levels and provides excellent sound insulation - useful if you live near an airport.
Horticultural glass, also know as Greenhouse glass is a cheaper kind of glass, used in cucumber frames and, of course, greenhouses. It is is not strengthened in any way and breaks easily; as anyone who has played football near a greenhouse will have discovered.
